WW1 - German Stormtroopers

This crew of Germans were ready for chemical warfare. They were wearing the new steel helmets and also armed with the grenades that would be famous in WW2. They have an aesthetic meant for a 21st century video game.

Very cool. We need to bring these back.

We will see lots of modified odd looking stuff in the coming road war. I would not be shocked to see Hockey masks employed en masse due to their design and modification

LBF - I also saw a ton of surplus gear at the last gun show and nearly snatched up goggles for $5 a piece. My father in law says the thing to look out for are single eye night vision.

I would guess their life expectancy was measured in hours, if that, during an attack. Guys are just insane when it comes to the shooting and killing part.

Looks kool in the picture??? But not so kool when a couple of thousand are doing everything possible to kill you!

Those guys were some of the best troops Europe ever produced, and they killed and died for nothing, fighting against fellow Europeans. And let's not forget the 100,000 almost suicidally brave Americans who died for Woodrow Wilson's foul dream, possibly fighting against the guys pictured above, at Cantigny, or Chateau Thierry. WW I was such a waste, it still almost makes me want to puke, coolness not withstanding. The only winners were the war profiteers and the Bolsheviks.

Go to Amazon and look up: STORMTROOPER TACTICS. Well worth the read. See how the Germans put it together.

Then read: Storm of Steel. This is the war journal of an officer who eventually personally led storm troopers in battle. It is an amazing narrative and has been in print since 1919.
