Social matter - Weimerica Weekly Vidya and Voyeurism

This week's Weimerica Weekly covers the world of video games online and voyeurism. I delve into the idea of e-celebrity for people who are famous to 15 minutes worth of humans.

This is half an hour long and I mention the changing nature of play. It is strange how we have even turned our children into voyeurs.

Hi, great site.

Do you take any suggestions for posts and segments for Weimerica?

@ Landers: Awesome.

(1) Given that you enjoy sports, the Stanley Cup Playoffs has started. Defending champions the Chicago Blackhawk's forward Andrew Shaw has recently been fined $5, 000, issued a public apology and must undergo "sensitivity training" after uttering "Fuck you, you faggot," towards an opposing player after a penalty. He is also suspended for one game, which is the final for the Blackhawks if they lose to the St. Louis Blues come Thursday (today as I write this). Watchdog 'You Can Play' picked up on Shaw's clip and immediately contacted the NHL.

(2) Former baseball pitcher and now ex-baseball analyst Curt Shilling has been fired from ESPN for a facebook post concerning the North Carolina's transgender bathroom law, otherwise known as HB2.

Within the post Shilling responded to a comment saying that those who would not allow transgenders to use any bathroom they choose was a bigot, to which he said if the person has a penis he's a man -- not a woman. ESPN, since it's an "inclusive company," later fired Shilling after his comments were discovered.
