A Short Note on Super Bowl XLIX

I'm predicting a Patriots win tonight. I haven't gambled on a Super Bowl since the Bucs and their prolific scoring defense (prop bet heaven) paid off my student loans. A Pats win is good for pushing the American 21st Century rules. Children can learn the all important lesson of corporate America that it is okay to cheat and lie as long as you make your company a lot of money. Enjoy whatever food your family and friends provide.

As far as Katy Perry headlining, we're not getting Peak Katy Perry.

We're going to get stupid Katy Perry in some dumb costume. Who picked her? All her songs are inane with heavy doses of teenage empowerment BS. This is a long way from 1979's "A Salute to the Caribbean", but this is still awful.

I might look foolish on this one later but I'll put it out there.

Pats win and the game isn't even close.

Seattle got a gift two weeks ago vs GB and played a non-playoff team in the divisional round. Their defense has trouble with TEs.

I have no meaningful knowledge of football but to me Seattle is the black team and New England the white team, so I'm cheering for New England.

Well, I was half right.

NE outplayed them by quite a bit though.

I thought pats in a close one but here's the really wild shit. Belicheck basically gave up bynot calling TOs at the goalline. One snap later and they win. Fucking insane.

I have no meaningful knowledge, period, but to me Seattle is the team that beat the amazing Green Bay Packers last week, and New England the team Green Bay defeated during the regular season, so I'm cheering for New England.

And I'm glad N.E. prevailed in a way that allows Seattle to know the bitter tonic of late-game collapse!

katy perry has some great songwriters, just epic bubblegum pop. unfortunately her lyrics are almost criminally mis-targeted. singing to teens about menage-a-trois (last friday night), bicurious, etc.

This was a damn good game. I wanted NE to win, and I'm glad they did. But Respect to everybody involved, including the brawlers on the last snap. Great game.

I only watched about the last five minutes, and online cuz I ain't got no cable, and that was quite some ending. I don't like Seattle and thought Green Bay (of whom I am a fan) outplayed them and just got a jinxy loss. And then Seattle pulls off that crazy ass catch. Followed by the even crazier interception.

Terribly painful if you're a Seattle fan, almost miraculous if you're a Pats fan. I was just kinda, "yes! white team wins!" and that was that.

I watched some of the commercials on Hulu and was duly unimpressed. I liked the Snickers one the best. Coca Cola continues it's endless series of nauseating agit-prop commercials.

The one commercial that made me angry was the "throw/run like a girl" ad, which concluded with "girls lose their self esteem when they reach puberty" nonsense.

Yes, I said. No shit. Until puberty girls have narrow hips like a boy so they run/throw competently, then they grow hips and breast and yes, start to run/throw like a girl.

And why do they lose their self esteem? Because the prettier girls torment the plainer girls. Duh.

The part where the adult female interviewer entraps a young boy in a "so, you just insulted your sister" moment... I wanted to drive my fist through the cunt's teeth. I am very protective of boys that way.

Now, grudging respect to Budweiser for their "fuck you" to me - er, to independent craft beer makers. Agree & amplify: alpha.

This was one of the lamest halftime shows ever. Even Katy Perry herself was so obviously not into the hip hop thing with that female hip-hopper midway through. Visibly out of her comfort zone. And what’s with the (yes, the burgeoisie are shocked because never saw it coming) simulated lap dance and blowjob with Kravitz?

Seriously, if you were to get a normal girl out in a simple and modest dress, singing normally, and standing straight rather than doing that twerky squat-stance, you’d have a revolutionary performance.

The "throw like a girl" commercial was interesting on two levels:

1) Are we not supposed to notice that girls throw like girls? Is that something we're supposed to deny now?

2) Who the hell paid for a Superbowl ad for that? Yep, the whole leftist / equalist degeneration in modern culture is being pushed by corporations for profit - not by demented ideologues who are actually paying money to push their insane message.

Oh, and there was a nice contrast with the Dodge old person commercial where one piece of the old men's advice was "don't bitch". When I heard that I said "the 'throw like a girl' people aren't going to be happy". I'm pretty sure that the "don't bitch" guy was a negro though - so it's all ok.

Indeed! When they award me the decision on next year's Superbowl show, it's going to be something very similar to this (including the polite, white audience):

Peterike, that was very nice. Also, this is what I had in my mind when I was describing the revolutionary concept of a simple, modest look and feminine performance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL5rmmpiHp8

It's Poland's 1994 second-place Eurovision performance by Edyta Gorniak. Notice the simple white dress, the flat shoes that almost give her that sexy "barefoot and domestic" look.

Needless to day, no tats. She looks very nervous at first. Notice no jumping around, no squat-stance twerking, no faggy/militaristic costuming and choreography that was first popularized by Janet Jackson in the 80s.

Gorniak, by the way, is part-Gypsy on her mother's side, hence the slight swarthiness. On the bit of negative, you an see the awful Maria Careyish note bending stylization in her vocals, which is now de-rigeur for every American Idol contestant. She was also panned by the whole country when she took some creative liberties when performing the national anthem at a 2002 World Cup game.

Nonetheless, the Eurovision performance is nice.

Sadly now Eurovision has dropped nice young ladies like Edyta in favor of Austrian bearded "ladies."
